The Chainsmokers’ Alex Pall Caught On Video Cheating By Ex-Girlfriend

With fame comes attention, and very few have experienced such a
rise to fame as The Chainsmokers have in the
past year. From DJ act to global popstars, The Chainsmokers
have the attention of all types of audiences on them, including
in their private lives. Alex Pall, one half of the duo, learned
this the hard way after he was caught cheating by who we can
now assume to be his ex-girlfriend Tori
. Included below is a picture of the
then-couple, also on Tori’s Instagram.

Taking to her Instagram Story, Woodward shared with her 40k+
followers what appears to be security footage of Pall kissing
and passionately embracing another woman. Captioning one of her
uploads with the quote “Alex is disgusting. Men are trash.
Don’t ever forget it,” and the other with “They’ll look
you in the eyes and tell you they love you. Then destroy you
without a second thought,” Pall has clearly gotten himself
into deep sh*t on this one.

One of the uploads has since been removed, with Instagram
claiming it doesn’t support their community guidelines, but at
this point it can only be assumed a good portion of Woodward’s
followers have seen the video and one still remains on her
Instagram story – also below.

You can keep an eye on Woodward’s Instagram here to
see if any other shocking videos are shared.

Martin Garrix Documentary “What We Started” Will Be Released In March

The Martin Garrix & Carl
dance music documentary What We
will finally release to select theaters on March
23, and will be available on Netflix as of June.

The news comes from popular Garrix source @TheMartinGarrixHub, who posted about the
documentary yesterday.

The film premiered on June 15, 2017 in Los Angeles to much
critical acclaim, where stars and dance-music music icons Carl
Cox, Moby, Paul Oakenfold, and Erick Morillo (as well as Paris
Hilton) were in attendance.

The film blends the veterans with modern star Martin Garrix to
tell the full story of dance music’s evolution and
transformation. Some of the gatekeepers of old disagree with
the direction of the genre, as showcased by their disdain for
the established young EDM giant. Seth Troxler quips, “How is a
seventeen year old kid the f—– face of dance music?”

The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) has just
named their pick for the top dance recording of 2017
– Zedd & Alessia Cara’s “Stay.”
The song was released on February 23rd via
Interscope and achieved double
platinum certification (sales over 2 million) en-route to a
peak of #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 while topping
Mainstream Top 40 radio and Dance/Electronic charts.

Congratulations to Zedd and Alessia Cara!

k?d Drops First Release Of 2018 & Madeon Fans Will Love It

k?d had a banner 2017, putting out seven new
originals, a remix for The Chainsmokers, as
well as touring with them, and gracing festival lineups around
the country and beyond. He was one of our Artists To Watch in 2017 and
he absolutely proved us right.

Now in 2018, k?d has released his first original entitled
“Glass.” Though it’s getting some flack in the SoundCloud
comments for apparently being too similar to
Madeon’s “Technicolor,” we here at Your EDM
see it as more of a brilliant homage than anything more
sinister. k?d’s production has been similarly compared to
Porter Robinson in the past, so it’s no
surprise that he’s taken the influence of a related producer.

All that being said, “Glass” is a wonderfully bright and
cheerful tune that still has the power and tempo necessary to
get feet moving and people dancing. Check it out below.

Your EDM Awards: Best Single 2017

We expected Illenium to run away with the categories for which
he was nominated, but in a stunning upset, the winner of our
Best Single category has gone
to Avicii for “Without You”!

“Without You” was part of the 6-track EP that Avicii released
earlier this year, his first official release since he
announced his retirement from touring in March 2016.

The #1 and #2 spots came down to within 200 votes, but Avicii
came out on top this time. Illenium came in
next with 1,400 votes for his song “Fractures.” Next up was
“Would You Ever” by Skrillex, followed by
“Pizza” by Martin Garrix and, finally, “Stay”
by Zedd.

Congratulations Avicii!

Your EDM Awards: Best Remix 2017

Narrowing down the top remixes of the year was extremely
challenging, given the sheer amount of them all. However, in
our nominations round, our readers came up with these 5 remixes
above the rest, and only one came out on top. The winner, by an
overwhelming margin, was the Skrillex remix of
Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble.”

This is a remix that fans had been waiting months and months
for, and its release did not disappoint. Despite some drama
with another producer, the remix still bangs and it’s clear to
see why fans chose to vote for it.

The runner up, though it was only even released two months ago,
was Illenium’s remix of “Silence” with 1,700
votes – less than half of what Skrillex received. Next was
Brooks‘ remix of “Scared To Be Lonely” with
1,100 votes, followed by Alesso’s remix of
“Something Just Like This” with 728 votes. Unfortunately,
Gryffin’s remix of “Feel It Still” was met
with a paltry 127 votes.

Congrats to Skrillex!

You picked the top 5, now it’s time to vote for the

Spinnin Records Unleashes Massive 3-Hour “Best Of 2017” Mix

Spinnin’ Records is well known for their label
mixes exceeding one or two hours in length, but this year’s
“Best Of 2017” year mix is the label’s longest yet, clocking in
at just under 3 hours; it’s also nearly double the length of
last year’s year mix.

All of that just goes to show what kind of year Spinnin’ had –
that is to say, they released a shitload of
music. According to 1001tracklists, the mix
spans 99 of Spinnin’s tracks across 2017, including cuts from
Alok, Oliver Heldens, EDX, CID, Ummet Ozcan, Eptic, Garmiani,
Timmy Trumpet, Mike Williams, Brohug, Throttle, Two Friends,
Blasterjaxx, Bassnectar, Autograf, Yultron, KSHMR, and

“Something Just Like This” Just Went 6x (!!) Platinum In Australia

Getting a platinum record is probably one of the hardest feats
in music to accomplish. Now just try to imagine going 6x
platinum on a record in one country. Grammy-nominated
“Something Just Like This” by  The
Chainsmokers & Coldplay
 just hit that mark
after previously achieving multiple-platinum certification
statuses in two other countries.

This week the single achieved the ridiculous mark of 6x
platinum certification in Australia after it crossed the
420,000 sale mark. Earlier in the year, the record peaked at #2
on the Australian charts.

Elsewhere in the world the song has achieved 7x platinum status
in Sweden and 3x platinum in the United States.

(Note: Platinum Record status varies by country. ARIA only
requires 70,000 sales for platinum, whereas RIAA requires

Martin Garrix Finally Releases David Guetta Collaboration, “So Far Away”

One of the biggest collaborations of the year in terms of DJ
star power is finally here: Martin Garrix
& David Guetta’s “So Far Away” is out now.
While Ellie Goulding was once on the record, and
could have made it truly great, it features the vocals of Jamie
Scott and Romy Dya, who still do a phenomenal job.

But, that’s really where the greatness ends. And let’s not
split hairs, it’s still a good job, but there are clearly
“good” and “not so good” parts of the song. Jamie Scott and
Romy Dya’s harmonies in the chorus give us goosebumps, hitting
just the right notes, and then the drop comes and… it’s “Scared
To Be Lonely v2.”

Thankfully, there’s a lot of solid groundwork here on the
track, so the remixes are going to be truly amazing. For now,
check out the song in its entirety for the first time below.

Facebook Steals Another Snapchat Feature, Launches ‘Streaks’ For Messenger

Facebook has done it again! Yesterday, Twitter
user Case Sandberg posted a screenshot from
his Messenger app notifying him that
he was currently on a two-day chatting ‘streak’ with a friend.
If that ‘streak’ concept sounds familiar to you it’s probably
because it’s a direct copy of
the Snapchat Snapstreak feature
which has kept many a user using the application at least once
a day over ridiculously long periods.

While it’s definitely a great idea, at this point you’ve got to
start feeling for Snapchat a little. Don’t be surprise if
Facebook also rolls this out to both WhatsApp and Instagram
shortly after completely destroying the novelty of the feature.

ZHU Releases Mesmerizing New Joint Music Video For Exhale & Stardust

ZHU’s last
EP stardustexhalemarrakechdreams came out
with plenty of hype earlier in the year and firmly cemented the
producer as one of the most forward-thinking artists in music
today. As implied in the EP title, and this article title,
“Stardust” and “Exhale” are the first two records in the EP and
we’ve just been given a mesmerizing new music video for the two

The video features dancer Leiomy Maldonado as the star
of the two-part feature. The “Exhale” portion of the video
sees us following her into the forest voguing deep into the
woods on a motorcycle. We’re later introduced to her
daughters before we’re taken into the “Stardust” portion of
the video. Here, we’re given a look at the daughters from
within Leiomy’s womb to show how she passed on her artistry
to the two fetuses who have been singing and dancing since
before birth… yep.

As always in a ZHU video, the visual aesthetic and color
choices are breathtaking while the message is equally
ambiguous. Check it out!

Breaking Down The 2017 DJ Mag Top 100

Now that we know the final rankings of this year’s DJ Mag Top
100, we can begin to break down some of the surprises and
nuances of this year’s list.

To start, there’s no way around it, this year’s list featured
probably the biggest shake ups in the past few years. Sixteen
new artists made it onto this year’s list, including a whole
host of techno visionaries like Maceo Plex,
Black Coffee and Solomun. Six
DJs made their re-entry onto the list, with Danny
making the highest re-entry at #52.

By some cosmic irony, last year’s highest climber
Swanky Tunes also had this year’s biggest
drop, falling 72 places down to #99. Last year’s new entry
Alan Walker experienced the highest rise this
year, climbing 38 spots to claw his way into the top 20 at #17.

As for the presence of women on this year’s list? A paltry four
entries: Miss K8, Nervo
(highest ranking women), Alison Wonderland and
Mariana Bo. It seems that
Rezz is still too new to make a dent, and
legends like Helena Legend, Anna
, The Black Madonna, or
Nicole Moudaber have some other reason for
being absent…

The highest new entry this year is Lost

Martin Garrix and Dimitri Vegas &
Like Mike
retain their respective #1 and #2 positions,
while Hardwell, who was a 2-time #1 DJ, has
fallen to #4 in favor of #3 Armin van Buuren.
Armin has spent an astonishing 16 years in the DJ Mag Top 5.
Who’s the real GOAT here?

Oliver Heldens and Skrillex
fall out of the top 10 to make room for
Marshmello and The
, at #10 and #6 respectively. It seems
difficult to push any artists out of the top 5 – between
Tiësto, Armin, and
Hardwell, they don’t seem to be going anywhere
anytime soon.

Don Diablo moves into striking distance of the
top 10, reaching #11 this year while KSHMR,
despite a massive year, remains stagnant at #12.

Perhaps the most glaring difference on the list this year? The
complete absence of Indian artist DJ Chetas,
who caused quite a stir last year when he moved up 26 places to
#33 on the list.

See the full top 100 below.

NGHTMRE Drops New EP Single “On The Run”

NGHTMRE is certainly familiar
with Mad Decent having done many
releases together in the past like “Gud Vibrations,” “End of
The Night” or even his last single “Embrace.” Now, the talented
producer is ready to unveil his third EP with the
label starting with new single “On The Run.”

“On The Run” features the vocals
of Passeport. The lyrics are brilliantly
written and perfectly suited for Passeport’s haunting vocals.
The song also features a prominent electric guitar riff that
leads the way into an almost Oriental-sounding drop. While not
the typical NGHTMRE banger you might have expected, it’s
nevertheless a banger that features a lot of rock elements
which should leave all of us very excited to see
how the full EP sounds!

BREAKING: Lost Lands Main Stage Temporarily Shuts Down After Stage Catches Fire, Now Reopen [VIDEO]

UPDATE: SEPT. 30, 11:40 PM (EDT): The main stage is back up
and running and Zeds Dead on now (live stream)!

Excision posted a statement in the official
Headbangers Facebook group:

“Headbangers! Destroid was lit!

We were temporarily shut down due to a small fire at the
top of the volcano. On hand fire personnel quickly had it under
control and the fire was immediately extinguished. After
approval from the fire marshal and the sheriff, we’ve started
back up again and Zeds Dead is on stage killing it right now!
Thanks everyone for your concern, Lost Lands goes on!”

Lost Lands just experienced a literal
volcanic eruption, as a stage prop burst into flames tonight
and shut down the main attraction
at Excision‘s first-time festival in
Thornville, OH.

According to sources at Lost Lands, the volcano caught fire
during Destroid‘s set and music has since
completely stopped at the Paradox main
stage. Some have captured photos and videos of the stage
lit up.

Hardwell & KSHMR Celebrate ‘Power’ With B2B Spinnin’ Sessions Guest Mix

Last week, Hardwell & KSHMR put
together their collaborative single “Power.” The song has
quickly accumulated over 800,000 streams in just a week and
looks set to be a big festival tune for years to come. The two
artists have also teamed up for a
collaborative Spinnin’
guest mix throwing down an epic back to
back set for the radio shows 229th episode.

The duo kick off with KSHMR’s record “Harder” before continuing
the big room festival house goodness for another 60 minutes.

Insomniac Events Founder Pasquale Rotella Addresses Concerns & Questions in Reddit AMA

Pasquale Rotella, founder of Insomniac
, announced earlier this month that EDC
would be moving from its usual date in June to Memorial Day
Weekend in May, in order to avoid some of the heat on the
Speedway. Additionally, next year’s EDC would feature camping
for the very first time. While this was something suspected by
many, the actual announcement was still a decent shock.

With such a drastic change, many people have lots of questions.
And so yesterday, Rotella took to Twitter for an AMA and
answered as many questions he could about EDC – camping and
otherwise – as well as other Insomniac related questions
regarding his inspirations for designs, Middlelands, and more.

Read the full AMA here, or
scroll down for some of the highlights.

1. Camping prices will be cheaper with an RV, and include some
more luxurious options, as well

2. Camping passes will allow you go to in and out from the
festival during normal hours.

3. Rotella somewhat sidesteps this question about shuttles, but
confirms that tents will provide protection from sunlight.

4. Rotella likes the idea of a stage near the shuttles to cope
with boredom during the way, but says there aren’t any plans
for it. The wait shouldn’t be that long this year, either.

5. An Insomniac Production Museum is in the works!

6. There needs to be a vote on how to operate the live stream
next year.

7. QuantumValley will have a massive upgrade this year.

8. They’re still looking for the right location for Middlelands
in 2018.

9. Tips and tricks, secret tattoo booths, and real time

10. Will we see any dance music legends at EDC Las Vegas?

11. There’s literally no LED left in the US during EDC.

12. NeonGarden is getting a redesign next year, too.

13. Pasquale has definitely kandi flipped.

14. An EDC Cruise has been considered.

15. The biggest factor in moving EDC to May was…

LZRD Gives Louis The Child’s “From Here” A Wild Future Bass Flip

LZRD is quickly becoming
one of our favorite up-and-coming producers of 2017, and
listening to any of his recent tracks, it’s easy to see why.
The young producer has an unmistakable sound that comes across
with a distinct joie de vivre, a brightness that just makes you
smile and want to dance.

For his latest remix, he’s taken on “From Here” by
Louis The Child. The original has become an
absolute classic in the duo’s catalogue, a slowly simmering,
playful tune that is hard to really nail down by genre. For
LZRD’s own part, he takes the original and shoves it into
overdrive, putting it in a higher tempo and throwing on some
crazily textured synths that have become his specialty.

It’s an absolute blast even just listening to this remix, so
there’s no doubt it would be just as fun to dance to live.
Check out the remix below, and grab the free download if
you dig it.

Diplo Reveals Full EP With Starrah ‘Starrah X Diplo’

When Diplo and Starrah followed
up on their first collaboration “Imperfections” with “Swerve”
the other week, we were left wondering if there would be any
more collaborative material from them both. The rapper/singer
and producer/record executive seemed to have a natural
chemistry and we’re glad that it’s manifested into a full EP.

Starrah X Diplo dropped earlier today and along with
it, three new tracks that we hadn’t heard from the two artists
in “Zoo,” “You Know It” and “Always Come Back.” Opening track
“Zoo” shows flashes of that wistful late-night R&B club
sound while “You Know It” and “Always Comes Back” utilize heavy
jersey club influences and autotune more in the line with the
first two singles.

Skrillex Finally Drops His Most Anticipated Remix Of The Year, Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble”

CLICK TO LISTEN (link will be activated
once live)

You already know “Humble,” the Kendrick Lamar song that gets
dropped at just about every EDM festival and show. Now, get
ready to hear the Skrillex flip at every show. That’s right,
the remix that fans have been begging for ever since the OWSLA
don first teased it at Form Arcosanti earlier this year is
finally coming tomorrow!

A post shared by SKRILLEX (@skrillex) on Sep 21, 2017 at
3:44pm PDT

The remix opens with Kendrick’s opening verses backed by very
little except a some small notes from a flute or something
similar, until some ominous bass notes start resonating behind
his bars. And finally the drops hits, a classic Skrillex blend
of bass music. The flute continues throughout the next verse,
taking hold of the rhythm and becoming one of the most focal
parts of the track, before dropping again.

You could previously listen to a live recording of the remix
from Skrillex’s show at Webster Hall a couple months ago, but
to finally have the HQ recording is nothing short of bliss.
Check it out below.
